Hunter was an amazing K-9 dog who had the privilege of serving the Middletown Police Department in Connecticut for 10 years with his partner, Michael D’Aresta. Sadly, despite his hard work and dedication, he was diagnosed with cancer.
On his final day, the police department officers made sure to express their love for him. SGT. Doug Clark, boss of Middletown K-9, explained that the vets advised euthanasia due to Hunter’s severe liver cancer. It was a difficult decision ultimately made by D’Aresta, who held Hunter in his arms during his last moments with his fellow officers. The emotional farewell went viral in the US, and Hunter’s legacy as a hero will not be forgotten anytime soon.
